The Teretha Jossell Walton Scholarship
The Teretha Jossell Walton Scholarship is established in honor of retired educator, Mrs. Teretha Jossell Walton, formerly of Marks, MS. The Teretha Jossell Walton Scholarship is awarded to an African American female sophomore Education major, who is prepared to graduate from Coahoma Community College spring 2025 (May 10, 2025), and has been accepted to a university for the fall 2025 semester, to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. The student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The award amount is $500.00.
Eligibility/Requirements
- Must be an african american female
- Must be an graduating sophomore from Coahoma Community College, spring 2025 (May 10, 2025)
- Must show proof of being accepted to a university for the fall 2025
- Only one applicant will be awarded
- Interested in furthering education at a university
- Have a completed FAFSA on file in the Office of Financial Aid
- Submit two letters of recommendation
