The Robinson and Broom Legacy Scholarship
"WE REMEMBER"
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” - Nelson
Mandela
-
Our mother, Mary Alice Catchings-Broom, was a hard-working, gentle, and brilliant woman, whose educational pursuits were limited by the harsh environment of the South. However, she instilled in her children and grandchildren a desire for education and lived vicariously through them as they succeeded in a system that denied her.
-
Our mother believed that education improved the potential for success; therefore, educated was ‘what we had to be. Many of her children and grandchildren attended and or graduated from CCC, and we would like to partner with you to ensure her aspirations never die. We would like to offer The Robinson and Broom Legacy scholarship to a deserving CCC student as an extension of her legacy of love.
