(Clarksdale, Mississippi) – Coahoma Community College (CCC) proudly announces the participation of six students at the 2025 Mississippi Academy of Sciences (MAS) conference. These students highlighted their commitment to research and academic excellence by presenting a series of impactful studies, which are now featured in Volume 70, Number 1 of the Journal of the Mississippi Academy of Sciences.

- "Battling HIV/AIDS in the Mississippi Delta" by Shadiah Robinson, focusing on major health issues in the local community.
- "Exploring the Causes of Reduced Female Mortality Rates in the Mississippi Delta" by Hope Thomas and Shari'a Davis, investigating health outcomes for women in the area.
- "Investigation of Pollutants in Treated Water in Six Cities in the Mississippi Delta" by Ashton Harris, analyzing water quality and public health implications.
- "Leveraging Data Science to Combat Poverty in the Mississippi Delta" by Jasmine Stewart, addressing economic challenges through data.
- "The Renewable Energy Solution for the Mississippi Delta" by Reginald Rodges, considering sustainable energy to improve regional infrastructure.

Mrs. Angela Reynolds, the student coordinator, was instrumental in preparing the students for their presentations, providing essential guidance and support. Dr. Ouida McAfee, co-author of the grant funding the research, praised the collaborative effort facilitated by a nine-college and university alliance in Mississippi. "I am thankful for the strong alliance that enabled our students to present their work at MAS," she remarked.
