Coahoma Community College is set to host the annual Mr. and Miss Coahoma Community College Competition on Tuesday, February 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the Pinnacle, with free admission to the public.

The event will allow eligible students to compete to earn the coveted titles of Mr. and Miss CCC 2023-2024.

Contestants must be a full-time student who has completed a full semester with a minimum of 15 hours completed, have a 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average, be in good standing behavior, and enter their sophomore year in Fall 2023. Contestants will also have the opportunity to be sponsored by a Coahoma staff or faculty member during this process.

Nicole Moore, assistant director of Student Engagement and Services, has been working hard to prepare for this exciting competition and is thrilled to be a part of the process.

"I am extremely excited about the upcoming pageant. I think this is an opportune time for students to gain awareness of the pride of belonging to Tiger Nation," said Moore. "I am working on getting former Mister and Misses Coahoma Community College to support participants during this process."

Moore mentioned that this is a challenging time for many participants because they are stepping out of their comfort zone; however, they fully understand what is expected of them.

"We have practice and prep meetings coming up so that they can exude the most confidence while on stage. Their sponsors are also on board and have agreed to provide guidance where needed," said Moore.

Contestants are expected to pull out all the stops in pursuit of their intended titles. Attendees will be wowed by the truly spectacular displays put on front and center by some of Coahoma’s best and brightest.

"There are four highly qualified contestants for the Mr. and Miss Coahoma Community College competition, and I am excited to be a part of their journey," said Moore.

The competition is divided into four phases of the competition: a private interview, on-stage questions, a talent competition, and an evening wear competition. The contestants crowned Mr. and Miss CCC will receive a leadership scholarship award and represent Coahoma Community College on several occasions during the upcoming school year.

"This pageant will take great work, dedication, and courage. The rewards you will receive from participating will provide you with markable skills that can transfer over to future endeavors," said Moore.

The event will stream live via the official CCC Facebook page.
