Coahoma Community College is preparing for an activity-filled 2023 homecoming that will encompass a week full of “Coahoma World” events.

Homecoming is a time-honored celebration for not only current students but also the alumni of Tiger Nation. Homecoming festivities will begin October 2, and conclude with the climatic Saturday game day festivities.

Assistant Director of Student Engagement Nicole Moore and the Student Engagement Team has been working hard to prepare CCC for homecoming. With an overwhelming process, they have entrusted with managing numerous moving pieces but they are committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure success.

“Our primary goal is to provide an enjoyable experience for our students, faculty/staff, and the five district communities we serve,” said Moore. “If that means sacrificing a bit of sleep and running around, so be it. We're dedicated to making this event memorable for everyone involved.”

Moore also expressed that she does look forward to homecoming celebration and is pleased to give the CCC campus a week of fun.

“My hopes are high that it will be an energetic and vibrant celebration with a massive turnout of participants. I hope the entire campus will come alive with the spirit of homecoming, and that we can broadcast that Coahoma Community College is a different world this year,” said Moore. “Lastly, we hope that alumni of all ages come back to campus not only to give back monetarily but also to give their time and support.”

With homecoming week only two weeks away, students have been looking forward to their Coahoma World homecoming experience. Kamayah Johnson, a freshmen Biology major from Cleveland, MS, shared what she looks forward to during the homecoming festivities.

“I am very excited for Coahoma’s homecoming and I am ready to see all of the alumni come out and spread the tiger love. I look forward to all of the student activities to engage in, as well as the homecoming day and what that atmosphere will feel like for the very first time,” said Johnson.

The community is encouraged to come out and have a ROARING time with your fellow Tigers during this year’s homecoming!

1:00 PM – Royal Homecoming Queen will be announced

7:00 PM: It’s a 90’s World Silent Party in Reid Gym

Tuesday, October 3

All Day: Departmental and Division will decorate their areas to fit this year’s 80’s & 90’s Theme

12:00 – 1:00 PM: 90’s Battle Department Dance or Karaoke Battle in the Student Union

7:00 PM: Tiger Nation Pep Rally & Firework Show: Meet the Tigers, Cheerleader spirit and performance, class competition games, fire show, community invite. Freshmen wear white, sophomores wear maroon.

Wednesday, October 4

11:00 – 2:00 PM:  Tiger Fest! Food trucks, car/bike/truck show, and live DJ

7:00 – 9:00 PM: Gospel Fest in the Pinnacle featuring Jekayln Carr

Thursday, October 5

12:00 – 2:00 PM: Student Government Association Meet & Greet in the Student Union

6:00 – 8:00 PM: Flag Football/Kickball Game on the Practice Football Field
