CCC Prepares for 2022 Verzuz Homecoming, Announces Full Event Schedule

Coahoma Community College is preparing for an activity-filled 2022 homecoming that will encompass a week full of “verzuz” events.

Homecoming is a time-honored celebration for not only current students but also the alumni of Tiger Nation. Homecoming festivities will begin on Monday, September 19, and conclude with the climactic Saturday game day festivities.

Director of Student Engagement Karen Woods-Done looks forward to the homecoming celebration and is pleased to give the CCC campus a week of fun.

“We want every student that sets foot on this campus and in this community to really enjoy themselves during homecoming week,” said Woods-Done. “It is all about the students and their wellbeing. We want to make sure that their homecoming experience is like no other.”

With homecoming only one week away, students have been looking forward to their Tiger homecoming experience. Khamiya Littlejohn, a sophomore Pre-Nursing major from Cleveland, MS, shared what she looks forward to during the homecoming festivities.

“I am excited to see everyone come together as a community to support the CCC tigers, and I look forward to this year’s parade and the football game,” Littlejohn said.

The community is encouraged to come out and have a ROARING time with your fellow Tigers during this year’s homecoming!

Monday, September 19

8:00 - 9:00 AM: Dawning of the Tigers- Donuts & Coffee for Students in Student Union

12:00 - 3:00 PM: Club Verzuz Club: Sidewalk Decorations on The Pit

2:00 - 4:00 PM: Tiger Day Party- Announcement of Homecoming Court on Multicomplex Yard

5:00 -7:00 PM: Eye of the Tiger- Academia Focus. Study hall for students to catch up on work in Student Union

7:30 – 9:00 PM: Student Concert in the Pinnacle

Tuesday, September 20

12:00 – 2:00 PM: Departmental Verzuz Battle in Student Union

Departments will dress according to the decade they would like to represent and participate in a dance competition that showcases a dance from that era.

6:00 – 8:00 PM: Tigers Verzuz Everyone Else at Miller Stadium

Pep Rally: Meet the Tigers, Cheerleader spirit and performance, class competition games, fireshow, community invite. Freshmen wear white, sophomores wear maroon.

Wednesday, September 21

12:00 – 3:00 PM: Best of the Best Verzuz Battle- Tiger Fest

Food trucks, car/bike/truck show, and live DJ

7:00 – 9:00 PM: Gospel Fest in the Pinnacle

Thursday, September 22

All Day Campus Wide Selfie Challenge Scavenger Hunt

Students will take selfies with various campus sites.
